Denmark startup visa requirements

The following are the requirements that you must meet to be able to apply for a Danish Startup visa.

  • Your business idea must receive approval from the Danish Business Authority’s Panel
  • The ability to support yourself financially is a must
  • As a business owner, you must take an active part in the day-to-day operations of the venture

The business plan that you develop should include innovative ideas and have the potential to develop the Danish business community in the future. A panel of experts will be appointed by the Danish Business Authority (DBA) to review your business idea before it is approved. Upon approval of your business idea, you will be able to apply for a startup residence and work permit to carry out your business.

Your business will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • How innovative is the business model?
  • How attractive is the market?
  • How scalable is the business?
  • How capable is the applicant or team?
  • Does the business fit the Startup Denmark program?

Make sure that you have sufficient income to cover the costs of your first year in Denmark. If your family comes along with you, you should also prove that you can support them financially. The documents you provide must indicate that. A bank statement can be used as evidence of the financial support that you are providing.

It is essential for the establishment of your business that you are present. In order for the business to run smoothly, you need to be present and take an active part in it.
